How we handle your data
Plain terms, matching what this site actually does - not a generic template. If something here doesn't match your experience of the site, tell us and we'll fix it.

Who this notice covers
This notice is published by Black Numbers Law ("BNL", "we", "us"), an AMFI-registered Mutual Fund Distributor (ARN-342488), for blacknumberslaw.com and its tools. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA), BNL is the Data Fiduciary for any personal data collected through this site.
What we actually collect
Not every page collects data. Here's exactly what does, and what it collects:

We don't run any hidden tracking, fingerprinting, or behavioural profiling anywhere on this site.
How we use it
- Name & phone (Retirement Calculator): to get in touch about the plan you built, if you'd like our help with it.
- Documents sent via WhatsApp/email (Tax & GST): to carry out the specific filing or advisory service you asked for.
We don't sell personal data, and we don't use it for anything beyond what you gave it to us for. Our legal basis for processing is your consent - given by submitting the form, or by choosing to send us documents.
A note on Tax & GST documents specifically
PAN, Aadhaar, financial statements, bank details and similar documents are sensitive. Because they're sent through your own WhatsApp or email - not uploaded to this website - they're protected by WhatsApp's and your email provider's own security (end-to-end encryption, in WhatsApp's case), and they land directly in accounts our team monitors. We don't store copies on any public-facing part of this site.
We also draw a clear line between two kinds of documents you send us. Identity documents - PAN, Aadhaar, and similar credentials - are used only to complete your filing, then deleted. Supporting documents - investment proofs, trading account records, vouchers, sales and purchase records - are the kind Indian tax law requires you to retain for 6 years. Only with your consent, we keep organised copies of these in your own dedicated client folder, so you have them on hand without having to track them down yourself later.

We don't share data with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone outside what's listed above.
Cookies & tracking
We don't use cookies for tracking, analytics, or advertising - there's no Google Analytics, no ad pixels, nothing of that kind on this site. A couple of pages use your browser's local storage purely to save your own in-progress draft on your own device, so you don't lose it on refresh; nothing in that draft is sent to us or anyone else.
How long we keep it
Retirement Calculator leads are kept while they're relevant to an active conversation with our team, and can be deleted on request at any time.
For Tax & GST clients: PAN, Aadhaar and other identity documents are deleted once your filing is complete - we don't hold onto these. Supporting documents you consent to us retaining - the kind the law requires you to hold for 6 years - are kept in your dedicated client folder for that period, then deleted unless you ask us to keep them longer.
Your rights under the DPDPA
- Access - ask what personal data we hold about you.
- Correction - ask us to fix inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure - ask us to delete data we no longer need your consent to hold.
- Withdraw consent - at any time, without it affecting anything you did before withdrawing.
- Nominate - name someone to exercise these rights on your behalf if you're unable to.
- Grievance redressal - raise a complaint with us directly, or with the Data Protection Board of India if unresolved.
